The Cards blew the Raging Cajuns away with a superb offensive performance, and a fine defensive effort in the second half.

The first half was an entertaining run-and-gun effort by both teams, with the Cajuns actually doing some damage with 60% shooting on both 2’s and 3’s for much of the half and taking and holding the lead for several minutes.  But their last lead was at 41-39 near the end of the first half, and then the Cards closed them out strongly to end the half with the lead and the momentum.

Chris Jones was in fine form too, adding 19 pts, some on spectacular moves.

Big Mo for the Cards continued in the second half, as they continued their hot shooting (60% + for the game), and most importantly clamped down on D, holding the hot-shooting Cajuns to only 22% shooting in the second half.  And frankly, after the initial blitz by the Cards in the second half to blow the lead out to 15 points, La.-Lafayette looked like they flat gave up–at least it sure looked that way.  They look tired– The Cards wore out another game, but severely over-matched opponent.

Luke Hancock contibuted 10 pts, but more importantly became a 1000 pt career scorer.

Now, on the the next game against old rival Western Kentucky at the Yum next Saturday at high noon.

Russ Smith has continued his steady production for the Cards, adding 16 pts against the Cajuns.
